On a closed loop cruise, almost never. Your ship's key card is what the gangway and the terminal check, because Honduras clears the ship as a group and passengers do not go through individual immigration. Leave the passport in the cabin safe and bring a photo ID as a backup.

Ten to twenty US dollars per person for a half day, fifteen to twenty five for a full day, in cash at the end. It is not part of the price you paid and it is not expected. Bring small bills: nobody on a beach can break a fifty.
